Here are some of the excellent items that were sold at our June Railway Memorabilia Auction.

We had a number of Clyde Engineering plates which sold for varying amounts.  This one topped the tree, selling for $5,300 plus buyer’s premium.  Of great historical significance, this plate was off loco 4220 which was the 1000th loco produced by Sydney’s Clyde Engineering firm.

 

 

This Beyer Peacock plate, off NSWGR loco 5001, dates from 1895, only a few decades from the beginning of railways in Australia.  It sold for $4,200 plus buyer’s premium (BP).

 

 

Destination boards and locational signs always do well at Manshed Auctions.  Bullaburra sold for $700 whilst Gunnedah was sold for $400 plus BP.

 

 

 

 

A sampling of our highlights concludes with a special 5-chime steam whistle from the glory days of rail, this one manufactured at VicRail’s Newport Workshops.  It sold for $4,000 plus BP.
